FOOT WORK
Early Drawings 1977-86

Mais je laisse Douglas en parler :

Well, here is a little 8x8 inch, self-published book, the first, that reflects my interest in printing a collection of early drawings--of the sort that formed the foundation of my work as an illustrator. This isn't the book some fans may have wanted--and, in fact, next to some ideal publication of finished illustrations, this book is a little pedestrian. But it shows how I wandered about toward my more imaginative work. Fedex delivered the latest proof this morning--and it looks ready to be sold.

Yes, it is relatively expensive--about $35.00. There's no getting around the higher costs of print-on-demand. You'll just have to take into account the copywork, design and text work (with much help from my wife, Kit), as well as the outrageously time-consuming Photoshop work and adjustments through several proof efforts that actually came to span many months. I went to some effort to actually reproduce the color of the various sketch papers--with fair success. The book with about 130 images doesn't cost more than a single signed inkjet reproduction I sell on my Ebay store.

So I ask you--share the link, as far as you dare to bother your friends. And if you order a copy, I very much recommend spending the extra $2.00 (in the US) for Fedex shipping and not pick US Mail--US Mail sends the book in nothing more than a clear plastic envelope and the book is just hefty enough to get dinged. Fedex sends it in a swell little protective box.

If you visit the Magcloud link, you can review the interior of the entire book--and clearly define the product before deciding to buy. And its available in digital form.

I will likely make something of a pest of myself repeating this link from time-to-time.
