Here is the next installment of our spring series, produced in collaboration with Charente Libre.
As a reminder, this series follows a bone (in this case, the colossal scapula of the new sauropod discovered in July 2025 in Angeac-Charente) from its discovery to its exhibition at the Angoulême Museum (May 25th), covering all the stages:
Discovery, plaster cast, transport, opening of the plaster cast, excavation, mounting, consolidation, paleontological explanations, contextualization, paleoreconstruction, exhibition, and study.
Enjoy and share!

Quelle aventure ! Non ?
Today, the team of volunteers is tackling the demolding of the resin cast of the fossil branches discovered this summer during the paleontological excavation campaign in Angeac-Charente.
The details will be painted in acrylic, and then the whole thing will be patinated to perfectly resemble what was unearthed. Other casts of the branches found there will be made, and everything will be reattached to its original locations.
